Teen killed while trying to stop theft

A teenager was killed while trying to stop cattle thieves from stealing a cow in Cumilla’s Nangolkot upazila yesterday.
The deceased is Farzana Akter Pinky, 19. She was a second-year HSC student at Banggodda Badsha Mia School and College.
Quoting locals and family members, AK Fazlul Haque, officer-in-charge of Nangolkot Police Station, said five to six people, on a microbus, tried to steal a cow from in front of Pinky’s house around noon.
When Pinky tried to resist them, they ran over her and fled away.
She died on the spot.
The stolen cow was recovered in Daulatpur area in the evening, 4km away from the spot, said the OC. Police are trying arrest the perpetrators, he added.
